Advocacy for Workforce Housing and Economic Development (AHED):
Monitors city regulations, advocates for streamlining the development process, supports new development and promotes local business. Works to improve the development permitting process by monitoring the Design Review Board and Planning Commission activities. Advocates for specific issues like sign ordinances, reduced business fees, parking, traffic, and other governmental regulations. Advocates for the development and retention of affordable housing for Marin's work force.
Meets the First Tuesday of the month at Noon in the Chamber Conference Room
Ambassadors:
The Ambassadors are the public relations arm of the Chamber - a group of motivated, enthusiastic and articulate business people who serve as the backbone of the Chamber's membership programs. They represent the Chamber at social functions and are the face of the Chamber in the community.
Meets the Third Friday of the Month at 7:30 AM in the Chamber Conference Room

Business Showcase Committee:
Helps plan and execute the Chamber's largest annual event, which requires active committee participation on many levels and is not only productive, but great for networking. The San Rafael Business Showcase is the largest in the North Bay. At the Showcase, Chamber members are invited to set up booths to display their products and services.
Meets on first Thursday of every month, 7:30 AM. Meeting location will be rotated between the Chamber Conference Room and Embassy Suites. Starting in June, meets on first and third Thursday of every month.

Fosters understanding, cooperation and collaboration between the business and education communities by identifying, promoting and supporting common goal. Works with School-to-Career program to increase student internships. Recognizes deserving educators through the Excellence in Education Awards . Welcomes new teachers to the community.
Meets at Various Times, during the school year, at the SR Chamber
Governmental Affairs Committee (GAC):
Monitors business legislation at city, county and state levels. Represents the business community with a strong, business-focused voice. Actively participates in the formulation of public policy on issues impacting the local economy. The Chair appoints committee members by invitation only.

Green Committee:
Promotes the San Rafael Chamber by being a leader in creating and supporting success for Green Businesses in Marin. Offers a Chamber-backed resource for members interested in becoming more sustainable. Promotes Green values and business best practices to membership. Produces and publishes Quarterly GreenUP e-Newsletter.
Meets the Second Wednesday of the month, at 9:30 a.m. in the Chamber Conference Room

Health and Wellness Resource Group
Promotes the sharing of health-related resources and information, in order to increase the financial success of businesses and the personal well being of individuals. Enables members to get to know the health and wellness practitioners in the community.
Meets the 3rd Wednesday of each month from 12 - 1 p.m. at the Chamber.
Leadership Institute Committee:
Designs and conducts the annual San Rafael/Marin Leadership Institute, a nine-month training program for prospective community leaders. The Leadership Institute enables participants to fully understand community issues and trends that affect the future of our county. Committee membership is limited to graduates of the Leadership Institute. Meeting times and places vary.

Membership Development Committee:
Promotes initiatives to develop new memberships and to increase the retention of current members. The Membership Development Committee is a team of Board members and ambassadors working together to develop added value for Chamber members.

Marketing Task Force
The Marketing Task Force is currently forming by invitation only. This task force will be charged with delivering the chamber's message, mission, benefits of membership, and accomplishments to the Chamber members and to the community at large.
