The Institute meets once a month from October through June. Each monthly session is held at a different location in and around San Rafael and Marin, exposing participants to local businesses, community centers and government facilities. Each month offers a program designed with Leadership Institute graduates, and addresses current events and issues. Participants are actively engaged throughout the program, as they respond and debate with local leaders about cutting edge topics for San Rafael and Marin County.
“The dedicated people who graduate from the Chamber Leadership Program are making a commitment to our community by participating, engaging and learning how to be good leaders in our county. A real leader has the vision, commitment and passion to accomplish important goals. John Quincy Adams once said, ‘If your actions inspire others to dream more, learn more, do more and become more, you are a leader.’”

December and January Programs
December Leadership Institute session was hosted by the Bay Model in Sausalito. Participants focused on the Marin and Bay Area Economy, Housing and Transportation. They were treated to a tour of the facility which is currently undergoing a remodel and should be up and fully functional this Spring.
The January session was graciously hosted by San Pedro Elementary School and Pickleweed Community Center. The class learned all about Educational issues in San Rafael and Marin as well as hearing from a panel of Canal Area residents discussing issues specific to their community.
The highlight of the day is always sharing lunch with the elementary school children. The San Pedro Student Council, who toured with the Leadership Institute class, were presented with certificates acknowleding their dedication and commitment to their school and for taking on a leadership role so early in their lives.
Gary Anspach from Anspach Financial Group was the sponsor of the January session. We gratefully appreciate their support.
